August 24, 2013 – A beautiful day on the Patio of the Knights of Columbus Hall was the setting for the class Hog Roast. We used the western theme and the classmates didn’t disappoint us with their attire.
Kenny Weber devoted the entire day to prepare the delicious hog and turkey meal for us. We can’t thank him enough for all his hard work. THANKS, KENNY. Pauline (Snelling) Davis led the invocation and we enjoyed a great meal.
Everyone posed for pictures and you can view them in our shutterfly account. We thank each of you for all the cooperation, especially for the class photo. I do think we will have to get a PRO to take one to get EVERY head in the shot, but we tried. You are the best.
We had a 50/50 drawing to add money to our Charity fund. Ron Davis spent his time selling the chances and he did a great job. Thanks, Ron. Darrly Goff was the winner and took home $112.00. The participation was great and we thank everyone for their kindness. Our fund now stands at $522.00 with a couple of months to add even more.
There was a Hog Roping Contest with a lot of the classmates and spouses participating. Paul (Buddy) Cheek was the winner for the longest throw and a tie for the shortest with Ruthanne (Lincicome) Cassidy and Bob Jardine. Ruthanne was the winner in the playoff. Way to go, classmates.
Two door prizes donated by Shirley Bennett were won by Joe Kennedy and Libby Penos.
The classmates signed a card for Roseanne (Achauer) James, who is recovering from surgery and unable to attend. Keep in mind, if you are having problems or know of a classmate who would to hear from us, let me know.
To have a successful party, everyone has to get involved and our classmates are the best. As another year has come and gone, we now must start again and think about next year. In the meantime, we will continue to gather for the monthly luncheon and harass each other till we meet again.
