2007

December 10, 2007 – The monthly luncheon was held at the Golden Corral, with 17 classmates and 5 spouses in attendance.  Pictures are in the PHOTO GALLERY.  Please note the “girls” out number  the “boys”, 10 to 7.  Will it continue????? Phyllis Young Bradshaw was the first to respond with the answer to “Can You Guess Who?”.  The picture was taken at Hancock Junior High with Shirley Suttle Bennett, Jeanette Harmon Hennessy, Karen Watson Chrisley, Roger Steffy and Tom Hall.   Who will be the first to identify the individuals in the new “Guess Who” photo? If you have a picture you will like to contribute, let us know. We recognize that there are many ill classmates, but there will be no individual names listed, as we would not want to miss anyone and everyone is important to us.  Just keep all our friends in our prayers.

Nov. 12th, 2007 – 25 Classmates and 10 of their spouses met for the first of the monthly luncheons at the Golden Corral.  We feel that is good for the first time and are hopeful that as the luncheons continue more classmates will come and enjoy old friendships and make new ones. A picture of the classmates who attended is in the Photo Gallery. Nov. 7th, 2007 – Francis Holzschuher was elected to the Council of the Village of Dresden, Ohio, on November 6th.  Congratulations, Francis.

Nov. 3rd, 2007 – When Maynard Honesty heard about the fundraising efforts for the NAACP scholarships, he decided to give back to his hometown. He donated two $500.00 scholarships in the names of his mother, Nancy Honesty and his grandmother, Emma Norman. These book scholarships were awarded, along with three other scholarships to five students, at the NAACP Annual Freedom Fund Banquet at Hallow Hills, on November 3rd. Maynard served as the Keynote Speaker.  His hope is to help motivate the community to become more involved to allow student opportunities to further their education. Isn’t it nice to know that even when a classmate moves away, our hometown is still remembered? Maynard, we are proud you are a part of the Class of 1957.
